HETiA Participates in the inForum “Brain, Retain & Regain” Conference, June 2–3, 2025

The inForum “Brain, Retain & Regain” Conference took place on June 2–3, 2025, at the Library of the Hellenic Parliament (former Public Tobacco Factory) in Athens. Organized under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic, the event brought together government officials, academics, business leaders and institutional representatives to discuss the phenomenon of brain drain and explore targeted actions for talent retention and repatriation.

Representing the Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association (HETIA), Dr. Emmanouil Zervakis, President of HETiA, participated on June 3 as a keynote speaker in the session titled: “The Role of High-Tech Enterprises and the Defense Industry in Brain Regain.” The panel also included Mr. Nikolaos Papatsas, Vice President of the Hellenic Aerospace Security & Defense Industries Group (HASDIG), and Mr. Athanasios Potsis, President of the Hellenic Association of Space Industry (EBIDITE).

The discussion provided a comprehensive view of what it takes to build a resilient innovation ecosystem capable of attracting and retaining scientific talent. Within this context, Dr. Zervakis focused on the role of innovation and research as strategic drivers of brain regain. He emphasized the need for policy frameworks that support entrepreneurship, enable the growth of startups, and promote long-term investment in emerging technologies. His remarks also reflected HETiA’s broader efforts to support industrial growth and integrate advanced technologies across key sectors of the economy.
