Hellenic Chips Competence Center (HCCC) Kick-Off Meeting
The Kick-Off Meeting of the Hellenic Chips Competence Center (HCCC) took place on June 19, 2025, at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), marking a pivotal step in Greece’s national strategy, aiming to reinforce its role in the rapidly advancing fields of semiconductors and microelectronics.
The HCCC is a newly established national initiative of strategic significance, dedicated to enhancing the country’s capabilities in the design, development, and transfer of semiconductor technologies. Its formation reflects a focused commitment to building essential infrastructure, cultivating specialized talent, and driving innovation in one of the most dynamic and high-impact technology sectors.

The Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association (HETiA) has the honor of coordinating this ambitious endeavor, in close collaboration with the partner institutions, to fully realize the vision and goals of the HCCC.

Throughout the meeting, attendees engaged in thematic sessions addressing critical aspects of the initiative: project coordination and governance, communication and outreach strategies, chip design platforms, training and skills development, and ecosystem building. These components are essential to cultivate a robust and future-oriented national innovation landscape.
The HCCC aspires to become a central hub for knowledge transfer and collaboration among research bodies, academic institutions, and the industrial sector — empowering Greece to actively participate in the European semiconductor value chain.
