HETiA panel “Microchip: Come and work in a trillion-dollar industry”
The discussion revealed the great prospects of the semiconductor industry overall. Fueled by the digital transformation that is taking place in various fields like automotive, wireless communications and the ever-increasing number of connected devices, the semiconductor market is expected to reach one trillion dollar within the next decade. Greece’s semiconductor ecosystem, which was represented in the panel, is also expanding and there are already a lot of open career opportunities.
Panelists agreed that the prospects of a young engineer joining the semiconductor industry are looking better than ever with a great career path in front of them. Based on HETIA’ analysis, it is expected that hundreds of new positions will be created in the forthcoming years in order to back up the strong growth of the local industries.
The conversation was warmly received and created awareness and anticipation for existing and future career opportunities.
