The Delphi Economic Forum IX Annual Meeting took place from Wednesday to Saturday, April 10-13, 2024 in the historic town of Delphi.

Over the course of four days, esteemed leaders from Politics, Business, Diplomacy, and Civil Society engaged in vigorous and impactful discussions on the current state and future trajectory of societies worldwide.

The program boasted a diverse array of side events, including insightful panels, keynote speeches by global leaders, strategic networking opportunities, and interactive sessions facilitating direct engagement with speakers and attendees. Participants had the chance to delve into pressing global and regional issues, build strategic relationships, and gain access to cutting-edge insights and trends shaping global markets.

One of the highlights of the forum was the fireside chat titled “Chips, Competition, and Collaboration: The EU’s Chips Act and the Global Landscape,” held on April 11, 2024. Dr. Emmanuel Zervakis, President of HETiA, and Mr. Charalampos Bakolias, HETiA BoD Member, participated in this insightful discussion alongside esteemed panelists.

During the session, Dr. Zervakis emphasized the significance of the Delphi Economic Forum IX Annual Meeting as a platform for fostering collaboration and innovation. He underscored the opportunities that Greece holds in the chips market, highlighting the country’s potential to emerge as a key player in this rapidly evolving industry.

Mr. Bakolias raised pertinent questions about whether Greece and Europe possess the necessary personnel and infrastructure to assert themselves as substantial players in the global chips market. He stressed the importance of investment in talent development and infrastructure to bolster Europe’s competitiveness in this critical sector.

In closing, both Mr. Bakolias and Dr. Zervakis offered insights into the next steps European companies should take to establish themselves as major players in the burgeoning chips market, driven by the increasing importance of AI. They emphasized the need for strategic partnerships, investment in research and development, and the cultivation of a skilled workforce to capitalize on this transformative technology.
