Another Major Success for the Greek Deep-Tech Ecosystem: Renesas Acquires Irida Labs
Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association (HETiA) is very proud for its member Irida Labs, which has been acquired by Renesas Electronics Corporation, a premier global supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions. The acquisition of Irida Labs is another important success story for the Greek deep-tech ecosystem and further demonstrates the international impact and innovation capabilities of HETiA’s members.
Renesas announced that a subsidiary of the company has completed the acquisition of Irida Labs, a Greece-based company specializing in embedded software for AI-powered visual perception systems.
The acquisition strengthens Renesas’ edge AI embedded processing offerings and accelerates the development of system-level Vision AI solutions across industrial, robotics, smart city, IoT, agricultural and healthcare markets.
Irida Labs has developed advanced lightweight Vision AI software and tools for embedded edge systems, enabling intelligent processing of visual data from cameras and sensors. By integrating Irida Labs’ expertise and its PerCV.ai software into its portfolio, Renesas further enhances its strategy toward fully integrated Vision AI system solutions.
As part of Renesas’ Digitalization strategy, Irida Labs’ technologies will also be integrated into Renesas 365, the company’s recently introduced cloud-based platform for electronics system development and lifecycle management.
