HETiA Participates in Slush 2025 in Helsinki
Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association (HETiA) participated in the second Greek Delegation to Slush 2025, one of the world’s most influential technology and startup events held in Helsinki, Finland. This year’s Slush gathered 13,000+ attendees, including 5,500+ startups and 3,000+ investors, reaffirming its status as a global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Greek Delegation — led by the Deputy Minister of Development, Mr. Stavros Kalafatis — consisted of more than 145 members, placing Greece among the Top-5 largest international delegations at Slush 2025. The delegation brought together entrepreneurs, investors, corporates, academics, ecosystem leaders, and government representatives, showcasing the growing international presence and ambition of the Greek innovation ecosystem.
HETiA was represented by Dr. Emmanuel Zervakis (President of HETiA), and Dr. Charalampos Bakolias (Member of the Board of Directors), who actively contributed to the delegation’s strategic program and engagements throughout the mission. HETiA also participated in high-level visits to key Finnish institutions that play a central role in the country’s innovation landscape, including the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra and the CSC – IT Center for Science, home to Europe’s first AI Factory and one of the continent’s leading supercomputing centers. These visits opened new avenues for collaboration in advanced technologies such as microelectronics, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing.
The delegation also attended the Welcome Reception, co-hosted with the Ambassador of Greece to Finland, Ms. Natalia Karageorgiou, facilitating meaningful exchanges with representatives of the Finnish Government, Aalto University, and the Finnish Chamber of Commerce. The event strengthened ties between the two innovation ecosystems and highlighted Greece’s growing role on the European technology map.
HETiA’s presence at Slush 2025 underscored its strategic commitment to elevating Greece’s emerging technologies sector on the global stage, strengthening international cooperation, and supporting the continued growth and competitiveness of the national tech ecosystem.
