HETiA participated with a special panel on “Microchip: Come and work in a trillion-dollar industry” in the framework of the “Panorama of Entrepreneurship & Career Development 2023“, at the Megaron Concert Hall. The panel took place on Friday April 7, 2023, between 17:15 pm and 18:45 pm.

“Panorama of Entrepreneurship and Career” counts 13 years of successful presence, being a starting point of entrepreneurial inspiration and creativity for young people and young executives, looking for their next career step, graduates looking for their first job and postgraduates and undergraduates who want to know what the job market is asking for, so they can be properly prepared.

The event included an expanded agenda of thematic sections and an impressive program of speeches: 70+ thematic sections (panels and “meet the executives”), more than 180 distinguished speakers (among whom were 12 CEOs of large Greek and multinational companies, Human Resources Managers, Senior Executives, pioneers University Professors, Successful Entrepreneurs start-ups, Ms), round tables etc.

HETiA panel on “Microchip: Come and work in a trillion-dollar industry” consisted of top industry representatives:

The discussion revealed the great prospects of the semiconductor industry overall. Fueled by the digital transformation that is taking place in various fields like automotive, wireless communications and the ever-increasing number of connected devices, the semiconductor market is expected to reach one trillion dollar within the next decade. Greece’s semiconductor ecosystem, which was represented in the panel, is also expanding and there are already a lot of open career opportunities.

Panelists agreed that the prospects of a young engineer joining the semiconductor industry are looking better than ever with a great career path in front of them. Based on HETIA’ analysis, it is expected that hundreds of new positions will be created in the forthcoming years in order to back up the strong growth of the local industries.

The conversation was warmly received and created awareness and anticipation for existing and future career opportunities.

Organizer of the event is the Research Center for Strategic Management of Businesses and Entrepreneurship, a non-profit organization founded by Athens University of Economics and Business ASOEE (https://www.aueb.gr/) professor Iordanis Ladopoulos.
